My Take:

 THE NEW MAN! THE REAL PURPOSE OF GOD’S CHURCH!

Why is there so much derision among Mennonite Anabaptist leaders for those who choose to bring prayer and scripture reading to our nation’s leaders? The Mennonite church seems to have many academic, literary and organizational leaders but few spiritual leaders. Where are the organized prayer and scriptural meetings among its leaders? Pray for repentance and revival in the church!

2 Timothy 2:16 NIV
Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.

A MESSAGE FOR THE ANABAPTIST COMMUNITY?

Have some current Mennonite Anabaptist philosophies and traditions become a form of “Corban” in  the Mennonite faith?

The words of Jesus

Mark 7 NIV
8You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
9And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! 10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother, and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’  11But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— 12then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. 13Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Jeremiah 2 NIV
13“My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water

GOD’S GREATER PURPOSE!

A God small enough to be understood is not big enough to be worshipped. Is the God we worship too small? In preparation read the Book of Job.

Job 42 NIV
1Then Job replied to the Lord:
2“I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.

Say a prayer of repentance for unbelief in God’s wisdom and plan; repentance for attempting to fit him into our own small desires and understanding! We have no answers for his greater purposes and plans, only a knowledge of and faith in his omniscience! We worship him not to fulfill our own plans and understanding. We worship him because his is the KINGDOM, the POWER and the GLORY! Always and forever!

THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT

Psalms 119 NIV
125I am your servant; give me discernment
that I may understand your statutes.

Matthew 13 NIV
18“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path

GOD’S PLAN!

God’s plan never changes! The sun rises with precision every day, sunrise can be predicted into the future with a precision man can never achieve. God crafted everything with a precise purpose in mind. If God changed his blueprints, there could no faith. Our worship would be in vain. God’s precise design never changes! The world’s plans and desires confuse the issues, but the final result will always be a fulfillment of God’s precise plan from the beginning. The church cannot alter God’s plan by its own will. This is why we seek sanctification to fulfill his plan in us and to worship him. All else will fail! His plan is supreme and true. Repent and pray. Praise God! Thine is the KINGDOM, and the POWER and the GLORY!

THE FAILURE OF “RELIGION” IN TODAY’S CHURCH

https://www.barna.com/research/competing-worldviews-influence-todays-christians/
“We live in a world of competing ideas and worldviews. In an increasingly globalized and interconnected world, Christians are more aware of (and influenced by) disparate views than ever. But just how much have other worldviews crept into Christians’ perspectives? Barna’s research shows that only 17 percent of Christians who consider their faith important and attend church regularly actually have a biblical worldview. So, if Christians are open to nonbiblical perspectives, what are they believing?”

SPIRITUAL WARFARE

The Anabaptist doctrine of non-resistance seems to apply not only to physical warfare but also to the spiritual warfare being waged within the Mennonite church. World views are infiltrating and subverting the Word of God, Son and Holy Spirit. Satan’s army is alive and well within the Church, using its own doctrine to influence our leaders, educators and pastors to feed us world views, starving its members for solid spiritual food. The church is failing. WE ARE CALLED TO SPIRITUAL WARFARE!  [Ephesians 6:13-17] Repent and pray for spiritual discernment and revival!

NO MORE GRUMBLING!  PRAY!

Organize prayer groups within your church. No more grumbling. This is serious stuff! If you are not praying daily within your family, your church, your church conference, you will have defaulted on your responsibility and standing as faithful followers of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God will give us what we deserve. Are we content as a nation to wander in the wilderness because the church fails to call on God? Where is our individual faith? Where is the faith of the church? What gods are we worshiping? His is the KINGDOM, the POWER and the GLORY! Repent, pray, praise and worship in truth. Accept God’s will. No more grumbling!

P.S. Also pray for the coming Menno USA convention  in KC.

1 TIMOTHY 2:1,2 NIV
1I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Habakkuk 3:2 NIV
Habakkuk’s Prayer
Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.
